چکیده
The cover shows the sun over a nuclear power station. Tritium is generated by nuclear fusion reactions in the sun and would be generated in terrestrial nuclear fusion power production. It is also produced as part of the fuel cycle in current nuclear fi ssion power production and has several uses in industry.

متن کاملInaccurate official assessment of radiofrequency safety by the Advisory Group on Non-ionising Radiation.
The Advisory Group on Non-ionising Radiation (AGNIR) 2012 report forms the basis of official advice on the safety of radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields in the United Kingdom and has been relied upon by health protection agencies around the world. This review describes incorrect and misleading statements from within the report, omissions and conflict of interest, which make it unsuitable...
متن کاملEstimates of the potential risk of radiation-related cancer from screening in the UK
Radiation exposure from medical imaging is one of the largest sources of radiation exposure to the general population, second after natural background exposures. In 2008 there were 46 million medical and dental examinations performed in the UK. The mean annual dose per person from this source increased by 23% between 1997 and 2008, primarily due to the doubling in the number of computed tomogra...

AIMS Interventional cardiologists who work in cardiac catheterisation laboratories are exposed to low doses of ionising radiation that could pose a health hazard. DNA damage is considered to be the main initiating event by which radiation damage to cells results in development of cancer. METHODS AND RESULTS We report on four interventional cardiologists, all with brain malignancies in the lef...
